Walks

There are beautiful country, and coastal walks either close to Colwyn Bay or, for the more energetic, the hills, valleys, lakes, and mountains of Snowdonia.

Both the All Wales Coastal Path and the North Wales Cycle Track pass within a half mile of the Bryn Holcombe, and there are several walks to be made in the local countryside including the pastoral Nant y Glyn Valley Walk, within a mile of the hotel.

Another pleasant walk passes through the seaside villages of Rhos-on-Sea and Penrhyn Bay before reaching the limestone headland of the Little Orme. Nature lovers will appreciate the Rhiwledyn Nature Reserve and Angel Bay, with their abundance of seabirds and wildlife. Seals, porpoises and dolphins are often sited at Angel Bay.

Rhos Point at Rhos on Sea is another popular spot for birdwatching, where oyster-catchers, dunlins, plovers, cormorants, red shanks and sandpipers can be seen feeding off the mussel beds.

The ‘eagle eyed’ visitor might catch site of a peregrine falcon as it sweeps in from the Little Orme searching for an easy meal among the Rhos Point sea birds.
